The India Cultural Association of East Alabama was formed in the year 1985. Since then the community has grown to include more than hundred families and around two hundred-fifty students. The address: ICAEA, Post Box 1242, Auburn, Alabama 36831
The activities of the India Cultural Association of East Alabama (ICAEA) will include, but not limited to the following:
The ICAEA will provide opportunities for members to assemble for fellowship, participate in ethnic functions, educational events and thus stay in touch with Indian culture, traditions and spiritual heritage
Undertake activities that foster friendship and understanding among people of Asian Indian origin and establish common ties
Involve ICAEA members in local charitable, educational and cultural organizations and thus become active participants in American lif
Promote and disseminate cultural, philosophical, and educational values through guest lectures, seminars, workshops and the like
Serve as a link between Indian community and other local governments, schools and civic organizations
Assist and support incoming students from India attending local colleges and universities to make a smooth transition to the new environment
